Students are constructing their first drawing package -- to scale -- of their own residence or a residence they are very familiar with. The components of the drawing package are as follows:
1 floor plan 2 interior elevations (one exterior is OK) 1 section (graded only for completion) 1 exterior perspective (extra credit) All drawings (except the perspective) should be at the same scale unless otherwise discussed. Link to Slides doc with elevations and sections below Link to Slides doc with floor plans below Sp1 Sketch Start: sofa in plan and perspective Today we will be exploring the intention of architects by looking at the African American Museum by David Adjaye and the Holocaust Museum by Daniel Leibskind. Students will then investigate our new building to see if they can make a case for the lead architect's intentions.

It's that time of year! Junior students will be showcasing their work from the entire semester during their POL presentation. They will show five compositions -- Line|Square|Rectangle, Line|Square|Rectangle Repeating, Lines of Extension Shaded, Lines of Extension Painted, and 3D Painted. Students will discuss their design choices throughout the sequence, as well as changes that they made along the way based on feedback to show their utilization of the design process. POL rubric can be consulted for more detail on the grading structure. Rubrics will be handed out in class and can also be found below.
Today we are introducing the "Architect" project where students are grouped by the architect they chose based on their own personal style. Rubric is below and students will have this week's long classes (Monday and Wednesday) to prep for their presentation on their architect as well as create a mobile of some sort that can hang from the ceiling and give information to the class on their architect and their built work.
